Unlike sugary lattes and desserts, our pumpkin spice smoothie is the healthy option you can enjoy every day of fall. We use a green banana because it has less sugar and is a gut friendly substitute that’s rich in resistant starch and pectin. It’s the perfect creamy base to mix our vanilla Protéine Verte with pumpkin spice.
Green bananas are one of Linda’s favorite substitutes. We recommend buying bananas green, peeling and freezing them so that they are ready to go for smoothies. Green bananas are low on the low glycemic index and rich in prebiotics!
You can purchase pumpkin spice at any grocery store this time of year or if you’d like to make your own, it’s a simple combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice and ginger.
