Dairy free milk is one of our go-to longevity kitchen staples. It’s great to have on hand for smoothies, to splash in your coffee or matcha, and you can even add it into soups and other recipes for added creaminess. Many plant-based milks that we purchase contain gums and additives that dilute the benefits of these non-dairy options.
We have a simple, easy, and cost-effective hack that takes two ingredients and about a minute to prepare. First, it’s important to find a canned coconut milk that is organic and without added fillers and gums. Ideally, the only ingredients listed should be organic coconut and filtered Water.
Filtered water
Pour the canned coconut milk into a glass pitcher and add equal parts filtered water to dilute. The dilution can be to your liking, I personally like a 1 to 3 ratio. That’s 1 part coconut milk to 3 parts filtered water. Mix or shake. Alternatively, you can freeze the canned coconut milk into an ice cube tray. Add the frozen coconut milk cube and equal parts water to smoothies or a hot beverage. Simple. Cheap. Delicious.
